Funding Criteria

topics:
Conservation of pollinating insects and the ecosystem service of pollination by:
- conservation, restoration, and connectivity of habitats with a landscape approach
- pollinator-friendly agriculture and agroecological practices
- inclusion of traditional knowledge and gender-responsive approaches
- responsible use of pesticides and strengthening of Integrated Pest
Management (IPM)
- pollinator monitoring and the use of digital tools to generate evidence
- business models and financial solutions for the conservation and sustainable use of pollinating insects

eligibility:
- involvement of at least two countries from Latin America and the Caribbean, one of them needs to be Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Paraguay, or Peru
- co-finance (in-kind/cash) of at least 15% expected

The regional project “Poli-LAC” is carried out by the German development cooperation, implemented by GIZ, on behalf of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Government of Germany, and co-financed by the European Union in Paraguay.

Additional technical assistance for implementation, regional knowledge exchange and systematisation of results will be provided.
